This system is primarily designed to operate with a generator as the main source of power providing electricity for all major loads such as washing machines, dishwashers, pool filter pumps etc. During the period the generator is running for these loads the battery bank is charged, when the generator is switched off the power is automatically supplied by the battery bank. The basic system design will provide sufficient capacity from the batteries to run lighting and refrigeration units overnight. However it must be stressed that heavy loads such as washing machines, irons, electric kettles and electrical cooking appliances should only be run when the generator is providing the electrical source. The amount of time your system can run without power output is determined by the capacity of your battery bank and the level of charge maintained. The more power you use when on battery the longer you will have to run the generator to recharge the system.
The basic system is completely automatic and should require no input from the user other than determine the generator run times and start and stop the generator. A fully automatic system is available which will monitor the battery and electrical load status switching on the generator as and when required automatically.
A typical "Hybrid" System. (showing optional Solar Panels)
A battery standby solution will significantly reduce generator running times and therefore operating and maintenance cost. The modular design of the system means that should you want to install a Solar Panel system or Wind generator these can be added easily and with minimum cost at any time to increase power supplied and further reduce running costs.
